A proper cake smash isn’t one shoot — it’s three distinct phases, each capturing something different. Here’s how we structure it.

Clean Pre-Smash Portraits (15-20 min)

Baby arrives clean, in their themed outfit. We shoot dignified portraits: seated, standing, exploring the set. These are often the frames parents print and frame — clean, composed, first-birthday-ready. The set is styled, the baby is photogenic, and nothing has smashed yet.

The Cake Smash (25-35 min)

The moment. We bring out the designer smash cake. Baby examines it. Touches it. Tastes it. Question their life choices. Then — joy. Frosting on the face. Cake on the floor. One tiny hand fully submerged in buttercream. We shoot fast and continuously because every 10 seconds produces a new frame you won’t forg

The Splash & Cleanup Finale (15-20 min)

Our favourite finale. Baby goes into a clear basin of warm, bubble-filled water (optional — skipped if baby isn’t comfortable with water). Frosting floats. Baby splashes. Sometimes laughs hysterically. Sometimes glares at you. Either is perfect.

We provide a designer smash cake as part of every package — baked by our FSSAI-licensed partner baker, coordinated with your chosen theme, and size-appropriate for a smash (soft layers, generous frosting). Flavours: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, red velvet, pineapple. Egg-free and allergen-friendly options available on request.

Not at all — most babies at a cake smash don’t eat much of the cake anyway. They mostly smash, squish, and taste tentatively. If you prefer, we can arrange a sugar-free fondant cake that looks identical in photos but isn’t meant to be eaten. Many parents choose this option. Please consult your pediatrician before introducing sugar if this is baby’s first time.

Happens in about 1 in 5 sessions — and we handle it with zero drama. We take a break, feed, play, and try again. We’ve never had a session “fail.” Even shy or confused babies produce beautiful frames once they warm up. Also: the confused-baby face is one of the most-loved shots we deliver.

 Plan for 1 to 1.5 hours total, including all three phases (pre-smash portraits, cake moment, splash finale). Sessions are baby-paced — if we need more breaks, we extend. No additional charge for extended time.

 Yes. We provide 2 outfits as part of every package — one for the clean pre-smash portraits, one for the actual smash phase. Both are coordinated with your chosen theme. You’re also welcome to bring your own outfit if there’s something special you want used.

No — cake smash is exclusively studio-based. The setup (themed backdrop, water basin, cleanup area, lighting, cake refrigeration) requires a controlled environment. We offer at-home shoots for other services like Newborn and Maternity, but not cake smash.
